Hi! I’m Daniel. Thanks for stopping by.
I am a MacOS and iOS developer with a degree in Biology and a passion for gardening. Over the last few years I have realized that the food I buy in the store isn’t always safe and foods that we think of as fresh are frequently coming from far away place. At best “fresh” means that it only spent a week in a truck being shipped to my town instead of a month.
I have a home on a relatively small lot, 1/8th of an acre. If you do the math, on an average day 2.5 megawatt hours of energy fall on my lot. That’s a lot of energy and I’ve been asking myself how to turn that into actual fresh food, as in picked an hour before I eat it.
That’s what this blog is all about; documentation of my journey to Food Sovereignty through the application of technology.
